The field trip to the Cedar Mill Wetlands was lots of fun! I was at the water testing station the whole time, so all of the pictures you see below are from there. I did my best to get pictures of all of the student groups, but unfortunately, I didn't get all of them. Have your student tell you whether their data suggests that we live near a healthy wetlands.
Updates I can't believe we've reached the last full week of the school year! The year has flown by! Students will not have a vocabulary test this Tuesday, but they will have their final reading log of the year due. Weekly Volunteers Now that we have reached the final full week of school, our schedule will be a little different than the usual. Because of this, we won't need our weekly math and reading volunteers this week or next. Thank you so much for helping out our class this year! Idiom of the week: have mixed feelings Field Trip On the day of the field trip to the Cedar Mill Wetlands our class will leave West TV at 9:30 and arrive at the site about ten minutes later. Chaperones will meet us at the site. Students will move through four stations and then we will head back to school at 11:10. We will be outside in tall grasses and a creek bank. Updates I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving Break! Remember, there won't be any school for students on Monday, 11/28. Reading Students were sent home with a Long Weekend Reading Log before Thanksgiving Break. Any student who records at least four hours of reading over the break will get on the classroom Wall of Fame. In addition, the student who records the most hours read will get on the Wall of Fame twice. Idiom of the Week : Leave the door open Writing We are continuing our "about me" informational writing. Students are working on writing complete paragraphs that include a main idea, key details, elaboration of key details, and concluding sentences. After Thanksgiving break, we'll work on an introduction paragraph, concluding paragraph, and transitions to connect our paragraphs. Math When we get back to school on Tuesday, 11/29, we will be on module 3, lesson 22. This will bring us to the study of divisibility, composite, and prime numbers. This w...
