The Week Ahead 11/3-11/7

It was great to get a chance to sit down and talk with everyone at conferences! It's nice to have the chance to acknowledge the accomplishments of each student and discuss the areas where there is room for growth. This week in math we will be starting with lesson 5 from module 2. Here is a very useful link that can assist parents who are helping their kids with the Engage NY homework. http://www.oakdale.k12.ca.us/cms/page_view?d=x&piid=&vpid=1402228861002 . If you click on module 2, you will then be taken to a page that has all 5 of the lessons from the module. There you can find short videos that show problems from the homework being completed. Module 2 only has 5 lessons, so we will take the end of module assessment on Tuesday. Depending on how we do on the assessment, we will either begin module 3 on Wednesday, or review some of the concepts from Module 2. Look for the scored tests to be coming home this week. The Week Ahead 10/27-10/29

Next week will be a short week, because of conferences. They will take place on Wednesday, 10/29 after school and all day Thursday, 10/30. Please bring your child with you to conferences. On Monday, 10/27 students will have spelling packets and reading logs due. They will also be tested on their spelling words. In addition, the students will get their spelling packets that will be due the following Monday on 11/3. Even though there is only three days of school next week students will be expected to complete the four reading log summaries and turn those in as well on Monday, 11/3.  On Monday, 10/27 the students will begin reading their biography books. Halloween Party Pictures

The Halloween party was a blast! There was a candy walk, photo booth, a science experiment, bobbing for apples, and guessing how many pieces of candy were in a jar. Enjoy the pictures!

Ceramic Monsters Day 2

Today the students painted the monsters that they built yesterday. They are all excited to see how their creations come out of the kiln!
